Vintage Vibe: Polka Dot Stitches Embellished Sheets

Instead of doing hand embroidery on a set of sheets, we decided to take the easy route and actually finish the project! Riley Blake’s Polka Dot Stitches fabric is just the thing for getting the embroidery look without all the time and needlework.

We edged a plain white set of sheets and pillowcases by sewing a band of the striped print on for borders, with the yellow flowers as a folded accent piece, and the blue print for appliqued circles. We added a row of dark yellow vintage lace from the local thrift store for added texture and beauty.

Luckily, it also matched perfectly with our Zig Zag Quilt. Other throw pillows were made from Riley Blake’s Indie Chic line (white medallions) and Joel Dewberry’s Heirloom line (yellow flowers).

We just love the vintage feel we get from these embellished sheets. It’s like an updated version of spending the night on Grandma’s sleeping porch with her heirloom linens.
