Take Flight Quilt
As promised, today we’re taking a look at the second of our newest quilt designs for Craftsy. The Take Flight Quilt (affiliate link*) was designed for the Butterfly Blooms fabric line, and we had a lot of fun playing with this rainbow of colors and patterns.
We love this shot of the quilt with some of the original artwork for the line. We used the different colors and prints to create a few secondary patterns between the blocks. We really love the partial chains of white that help break up the colors a little bit. As you can also see, the quilt is sized for a twin bed at 80″ x 92″.
How fun that would be for any cute girl’s bedroom! We really played around with the colors on this one, choosing a different color for each of the borders. The butterflies are also fussy-cut to steal the show as the centers on each of the star blocks.
We machine quilted in a butterflies and swirls pattern of our own design.
The binding is a multi-color floral on white that matches just about everything in the quilt. We picked the green butterflies for the optional backing to add another element of fun. We think it did the trick!
We couldn’t be happier with how both of our new quilts turned out. We loved working with the Lily & Loom fabric and think that you would love it, too.
You can also get Butterfly Blooms fabric by the yard (aff.) and as precut fabric packs (aff.). As with all of our Craftsy kits, the pattern for the Take Flight Quilt (aff.) is exclusive to them in their quilt kits for now. Patterns will be released on their own at a later date.

Love, Love, Love it! I don’t think I have ever seen a quilt so colorful as this line of fabrics.
