Sprinkles Quilt Along: Prep Weeks

In October and November, we celebrate the birth of Diane, Audrey, and The Cloth Parcel! What better way to celebrate than making the Sprinkles Quilt from our Piece & Love Book? You can quilt along with us, starting October 17th. What do you need to do to join, you ask? All you need is a copy of our book and fabric! Then, check back here every week for all the details on what you need to do that week. You can also sign up for our quilt along newsletter to get weekly updates in your inbox.

We wanted to give you a couple of weeks before each quilt along to source fabrics and get everything ready to go. We encourage you to visit your local quilt shop if you need to grab any extra fabric, but this will also give you time to order online if you prefer that route. Since you only need small pieces of fabric for parts of this quilt, you may even be able to shop your scraps.

For this quilt, we had a particular fabric line in mind: Birthday by Sarah Watts for Ruby Star Society. Here’s what we got:

We got yardage for the background, frosting, candle, cupcake wrapper, and binding. The charm pack will be used for the sprinkles on the cupcake. You could use a jelly roll or scrap fabric for the sprinkles and candle as well.

Be sure to grab a copy of Piece & Love so you can quilt along with us on page 13! The quilt along will run for four weeks, beginning October 17th. You can post your progress on Instagram or in our private Facebook group. You can also ask for help or advice in the Facebook group. We have been seeing some really cute quilts in there lately!
