Our pattern retirement sale is ending this week! This beautiful spring day brings us to the Theory of Refraction Quilt. As you probably know, it’s spring cleaning for our pattern library. We are almost finished retiring some of our oldest designs. Each small group of five or less patterns will be on a HUGE sale for one week, giving you one final chance to buy. We still believe in these patterns for their accuracy, but we’re ready for a different look!

The Theory of Refraction Quilt is a generously-sized throw quilt, designed for Audrey’s husband Chris. Imagine seeing a traditional strip quilt, as viewed through a prism. The straight lines are broken and shifted to reveal diagonal faceted lines and an offset diamond. The square border finishes and stabilizes the pattern. Finished size is 72″ x 88″.
Fabric choice definitely plays a huge role in this four-color quilt. Busier patterns will soften the overall pattern, and solid fabric will greatly enhance the graphic effect of the quilt. This is a great modern pattern for the adventurous beginning quilter.
