Inspiration: Les Fleurs Easter Dress
Every Easter, Audrey’s tradition is to make dresses for her three girls. Check out previous years here and here. This is the first year that little brother has also joined the fun, hence the title “Easter Dress”, rather than “Easter Dresses.”
We chose Rifle Paper Co.’s Les Fleurs and Wonderland lines this time. It’s the first year that we’ve gone for coordinating rather than matching, and it’s a refreshing change. (Also, notice the hashed wristbands that the girls wear until they literally fall off. They’re the perfect addition to any outfit!)
The dresses were made from the Caroline Party Dress pattern by Mouse House Creations. We sewed all the options (except adding tulle to the underskirt) and made a few modifications of our own. Nothing too serious, though.
The fabric sashes were made by sewing a 2.5″ strip in half lengthwise. We guesstimated on the lengths and they seem about right.
The little boy’s vest is a free pattern from The Sewing Rabbit. It was made entirely of lawns and looks super sharp!
We lengthened the dresses and flipped the underskirts around to show off the gold metallic print.
The tie was made from a free tutorial, but we honestly can’t link you to it because it was so poorly written and confusing. We had to unpick multiple times, but eventually we ended up with something cute. We’re thinking it’s up to us to make a better version!
Here is a back view of everyone.
This little guy was looking so fly for Easter!
You can see here that we lengthened the actual dresses a little bit as well. Also, our first three invisible zippers done without an invisible zipper foot!
Here’s a closer look of the sweet Peter Pan collars. They added the perfect touch to tie everything together.
Proof that the oldest does smile.
Although Easter seems to sneak up on us every year, we absolutely love this tradition. It is the only set time of year to sew clothes for the kids, and it just gets better every year!
