Make This: Reversible Elastic Headband Tutorial
Cami has another fun and easy project for us today. These don’t take much material and would be great for gifts. Click here to see all of our Creative Team posts.
This is a great quick project to use up scraps. These headbands are fun to give as gifts or just to keep unruly hair out of your own face.
Supplies:
-Scrap fabric
-Elastic 4-6 inches (I used foldable black elastic, but any elastic will work. The length of the elastic will depend on the size you are making and how tight you want the finished band to be.)
–Elastic Headband Pattern
Step 1. Cut headband pattern on fold of front and back fabric.Step 2. Layer fabrics with right sides together with a strip of elastic pinned to one end.Step 3. Sew the end with the elastic first. Back stitch across the entire end to ensure the elastic will stay in place.
Step 4. Sew down both long sides of the headband, make sure to leave one of the ends open to turn right sides out.
Step 5. Turn right sides out and press.
Step 6. Fold under raw edge of open seam while inserting other end of the elastic. Pin the elastic in place while you check the elastic length by trying the headband on. Once you’ve got the length where you want it, sew the opening closed, back stitching once again.
That is all there is to it!
