Dwell Block Swap
Recently, we decided to participate in a block swap with a few of our quilting friends. This was Audrey’s first swap, and it was quite fun! The idea behind this swap was to use the pattern for the Dwell Quilt from Camille Roskelley‘s Simplify book for the outside of the houses, then for the inside of the blocks, each of us used a different #jensfillerblocks from Jen at Heritage Threads. We each made a certain number of the same block, then we trade with everyone to end up with all different blocks. The only fabric we used was from Bonnie & Camille lines, so the colors and styles should all match in the end.For our first block, we chose the Greek Square filler block. The green print is from the Little Ruby line, and the centers and chimneys are all from the Daysail line. Even though her tutorial says you need 11″ strips for the cross, you really only need 10″. You could use matching pieces from a charm pack and a mini charm pack, which is what we did.For our second block, we used the Woven Wonder filler block. We didn’t have as many of this block to do, since not everyone chose to do a second block. We used more Daysail for the centers and chimneys, along with more Little Ruby for the rest. This one was lots of fun, because it looks so complicated. As long as you stay organized during assembly, this block is quite easy to put together. We’ve sent our blocks in, and we can’t wait to get everyone else’s blocks. Once we get all of our other dwell blocks, we just have to add some white sashing, and our cute little house quilt will be complete. Stay tuned to see how it turns out!
How can I get the pattern for this lovely house quilt…..Thanks
